It is common for everyone to think only about Mangoes during the summer. Well, even I am like that. At the same time, it is hard to ignore this Water fruit. Its a joy to even look at the crimson red fleshy part embedded with seeds that resemble black pearls. And its double joy to look at the fruit's yellow twin.
The only factor that tells apart the fruit from its red counterpart is the yellow flesh that is the result of the absence of the pigment, Lycopene. The taste is almost similar but I personally feel that the Yellow (known as Yellow Crimson Watermelon) is sweeter. It is a package of nutrients and antioxidants but low in calories. Isn't this a good reason to eat Melons?

INGREDIENTS
- 400 gm Yellow Watermelon pulp ( refrigerated and de-seeded)
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- a pinch of salt
- 2 tsp sugar ( optional)
METHOD
- Blend the Watermelon pulp and sugar to a smooth puree. Squeeze lemon and swirl again.
- Pour the contents in tall glasses and serve immediately. I personally do not prefer adding ice cubes to juices and shakes. Please do so if you prefer.
