EGGLESS MANGO MOUSSE - Guest post by a special friend
Guest posting for one another is a common scenario among food bloggers. Its just like exchanging eatables among good friends and enjoying. Only thing is that it happens on a virtual platform. This time, I am featuring some of my non blogger friends who are great cooking enthusiasts but otherwise busy with their lives. The first person who agreed guest post was my dear friend Ammu ( Amudha). She is a super talented and creative lady and I have been pestering her to start a blog and share her creativity. I hope she does soon. I am so very glad to feature her here and thank her for posting this gorgeous looking recipe on my Big day. Thank you Ammu.... Over to you now..
I am elated to guest post for Sowmya of Tuma's Tongue Treats. She is an outstanding food blogger and a beloved friend of mine. I always admire her crisp descriptions that talks about tradition and culture along with the attractive photography and authentic recipes. I take this opportunity to thank my friend for all the encouragement and guidance she has given me to write this guest post on her food blog. Its a pleasure to get a small space in your exquisite space. "Today, being your birthday I would like to dedicate this post you my beloved friend". Thank you again Sowmya and enjoy!
A little about me personally... I am Amudha Siva, married and settled in Bay Area, CA. I, being a full time stay-at-home mom of two handsome kids, love spending time with them. I love anything that's creative and decorative. While I enjoy cooking, painting is my passion.

An
easy-to-make dessert that can be made ahead of time would be a sure hit!
Well, who does not love sweet mangoes? My entire family and friends
craves and relishes this tropical flavored dessert which is a blend of
both sweet and slightly sour taste. This ineffable velvety, light and
extremely creamy dessert will make your guests crave for more.
Category :Dessert
Preparation time : 20 mins
Cooking time : 0 minutes
Servings: 8 - 10
INGREDIENTS
- Sour cream - 8 oz
- Cream cheese - 8 oz
- Agar agar - 5 tsp (powder)
- Mango Pulp - 1 Can
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Add agar agar to a cup of water in a small saucepan.
- Whisk the mixture together and bring it to a hard boil on medium-high heat, being careful not to let the liquid boil over.
- After the mixture has dissolved, add sugar and mix well for it to dissolve thoroughly.
- In a large bowl strain the mango pulp and mix the sour cream and cream cheese to blend well using hand blender in low speed.
- Pour the agar agar and sugar mixture to the above and blend again to incorporate well without lumps.
- Transfer the mousse to any container to serve and refrigerate to set for minimum of 6-8 hours.
- Serve chilled !
- You may substitute agar-agar with 3 pouches of unsweetened gelatin. Read the instructions given on the box to dissolve the gelatin with a cup a water.
- I have doubled this recipe and used 8" spring-form pan lined with wax paper to set the cake with clean edges.
- You may reserve about 1 tbs of mango pulp to use it to decorate before or after refrigerating.
- If you want an elaborate decoration, I would suggest you to freeze the mousse for 2-3 hours to avoid melting. Enjoy decorating!
- Have fresh mangoes handy? Lucky you! Go for it please.
