INSTANT ALLAM -BELLAM CHUTNEY - Guest post for a good friend
I am very happy to do this guest post for Suhaina of My Singapore Kitchen. She is a very popular Food blogger, best known for her Baking delights, International and Kerala recipes. Besides this, she is a busy professional, a loving mother , a nice, thoughtful and ever helping friend.
I take this opportunity to personally thank Suhaina for all the encouragement she has given me so far and also for being an inspiration to start this page.. Thank you again Suhaina.
When I decided to do the guest post, the next question that came to my mind was "What recipe should I post?" I really wanted to post something nice and quick and also do justice. I finally decided upon this Spicy Spread - Instant Allam - Bellam chutney, an Andhra delicacy.
I always have an affinity towards fiery, hot and spicy food since childhood as considerable amount of my childhood was spent in Andhra Pradesh. This being the case, explains my high tolerance for spicy food ( anything that is spicy). I have mellowed down a bit on spice intake after my marriage as my In - laws and husband are not big fans of spicy food. But I do make something once in a while when I crave for.
Coming to Andhra food, I specially like their ever spicy Chutneys, Pickles and Podis. This AB chutney was one such delectable accompaniment that I always loved during restaurant outings with my parents. This chutney would be served as an accompaniment in small quantities along with the regular Coconut chutney and Tiffin Sambar for Idly and Dosa. A similar kind of chutney is served spread inside Masala Dosas in Karnataka restaurants. This is definitely a great taste enhancer and worth a try.
So, peep into Suhaina's My Singapore Kitchen for the recipe.
