BEETROOT GINGER JUICE

It feels great to have fresh juice to complete a breakfast!! And its  always a double yes for me and my family members. We like trying different combinations to suit our taste and this Beetroot Ginger Juice is one such combo from my husband. This BG juice has been a compulsory part of our breakfast menu for more than an year. Trust me. I ve prepared it umpteen times and is really really refreshing and I guarantee that your system feels cleansed by the EOD!! So try this to kick start your mornings.

Preparation time : 5 min
Serves : 2
Recipe Source : Srivatsan ( My husband)

Ingredients

Beetroot............................................. 2 Medium sized
Ginger............................................... 2 inch piece
Honey................................................ 4 tsps
Water................................................  2 cups

Method
  • Wash, peel and cut the beetroot into small cubes. It makes the grinding easy.
  • Wash and peel the ginger and slice it.
  • Now grind the beetroot and ginger  to a smooth paste in a  mixer using the pulse mode.
  • Add honey and 2 cups of water and whip again. Serve immediately.

Notes
  • Adding honey and ginger will automatically clarify the juice and disperse the suspension beautifully.
  • Do not filter the juice as you need the suspended fibre in it.
  • I personally don t prefer adding ice cubes to fresh juice. You can refrigerate the beetroot for sometime if you want to. But be careful during the cutting process as chilled beetroots tend to be very slippery. If you are careless the knife injures you very badly. ( My husband's personal experience)
  • Consume the juice quickly after preparation. If you leave it for a long time it tends to get bitter.

  1. Going to try this one today Sowmya. About the beetroot being slippery - I had that very experience a few months back, so I second that!
